If you are dissatisfied with a CCC Information Access decision, you may apply for an internal or external review of the decision.

Internal review

In an internal review, the application is considered afresh. An internal review is performed by a CCC officer at least as senior as the officer who made the original decision.

An application for internal review must:

  • be in writing
  • detail your grounds for appealing
  • state an address to which notices may be sent
  • be lodged with the CCC within 20 business days of the date of the written notice of the decision.

External review

External reviews are conducted by the Information Commissioner. You may request an external review whether or not there has been an internal review.

An application for external review must:

  • be in writing
  • detail your grounds for appealing
  • state an address to which notices may be sent
  • be lodged with the Information Commissioner within 20 business days of the date of the written notice of the decision.
