Is your complaint about a breach of the Corporations Act, including breaches by individual company directors?
This matter may be outside our jurisdiction. Please consider whether the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) is the more appropriate agency to deal with your concerns.

Is your complaint about a breach of discipline or a breach of a Code of Conduct by a government official / employee (e.g. police officer or councillor not returning your call?)
Breach of discipline/Code of Conduct by a police officer.
‘The Queensland Police Service exclusively deals with ‘customer service issues’ or ‘breaches of discipline’. If your complaint is assessed as a more serious matter, the QPS is required to notify the CCC in accordance with the Crime and Corruption Act 2001. Breach of discipline / Code of Conduct by an elected official (e.g. councillor  or politician)
The performance of the official duties of a person elected to office does not amount to corrupt conduct unless the conduct could, if proven, amount to a criminal offence. The Office of the Independent Assessor deals with Councillor Conduct complaints.

Code of Conduct by a state or local government employee/agency.
We do not deal with complaints about breaches of agencies’ Codes of Conduct. Please contact the relevant department or local government.

Is your complaint about the fairness and legality of administrative actions taken by the public sector?
This matter may be outside our jurisdiction. Please consider whether the Queensland Ombudsman is the more appropriate agency to deal with your concerns.

Is your complaint about someone being discriminated against, for example, because of sex, relationship status, pregnancy, age, race, religious belief, political activity, gender identity or sexuality?
This matter may be outside our jurisdiction. Please consider whether the Queensland Human Rights Commission is the more appropriate agency to deal with your concerns.

Is your complaint about an employment issue, including wages and employment conditions, workers’ compensation, unfair dismissal, workplace health and safety or workplace bullying?
This matter may be outside our jurisdiction. Please consider whether your union can assist or for complaints about wages and employment conditions in the private sector and contact the Fair Work Ombudsman for matters involving: 
  • child employment,
  • private employment agents,
  • trading hours,
  • worker's accommodation,
  • public holidays; and 
  • wages and conditions.
For public sector and local government employees, contact the Department of Justice and Attorney-General.

For matters related to workplace bullying or other health and safety issues, contact Workplace Health and Safety Queensland.

Is your complaint about a private company (including Private Health Providers)?

A private health provider (e.g. GP, private hospital).

This matter is outside our jurisdiction. Please contact the private health provider directly or seek independent legal advice or contact the Office of the Health Ombudsman.

For this matter to be within the jurisdiction of the CCC it needs to be connected to the conduct of a public sector agency or employee. If the conduct does not meet this criteria, please contact the private company directly or seek independent legal advice.

Is your complaint about a government owned corporation or any of its employees?

The CCC is only able to deal with corrupt conduct concerning a Queensland Government Owned Corporation if the Chief Executive Officer of the Government Owned Corporation or the Under Treasurer notifies the CCC of suspected corrupt conduct. Consider making your complaint directly to the relevant Government Owned Corporation, Under Treasurer or Contact us.
