A 46-year-old Rockhampton man has been charged with additional offences following an investigation by the Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC).
In May 2016, the man was charged after he was allegedly identified during an ongoing CCC investigation that is focused on individuals accessing and distributing child exploitation material online using peer to peer software. (See previous media release)
After forensic analysis of computer equipment seized in May by the CCC and further investigations by the Queensland Police Service Rockhampton Child Protection Investigation Unit (CPIU), the man was charged with additional offences on 29 June 2016.
- 5 x section 210(1)(a)&(4) - Indecent treatment of child under 16 being the guardian (Qld Criminal Code 1899)
- 1 x section 349 (1) - Rape (Qld Criminal Code 1899)
- 1 x section 228B(1) - Make Child Exploitation Material (Qld Criminal Code 1899)
He was expected to appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court today (1 July 2016).
As these matters are before the court, it is not appropriate for the CCC and QPS to comment further.
