A 33-year-old Magill (South Australia) man was charged today with fraud offences following a joint Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) and Department of Education investigation. He is the second person charged by the CCC as a result of this investigation.

He was charged at the Brisbane City Watchhouse this morning with two counts of fraud contrary to section 408C of the Criminal Code.

The CCC will allege the man committed frauds of $33,000 and $77,000 whilst contracting to the Department.

The man is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 9 April 2019.

A 46-year-old Gordon Park man was charged by the CCC on Friday 22 March 2019 with related offences

This investigation remains ongoing.

As this matter is now before the court, and the investigation is ongoing, it is not appropriate for the CCC to comment further.

The CCC is an independent agency combating major crime and reducing corruption for the benefit of the Queensland community.
