A 46-year-old Gordon Park man was charged today with fraud offences following a joint Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) and Department of Education investigation.

The man, an employee of the Department of Education, was charged at the Brisbane City Watchhouse this morning with two counts of fraud contrary to section 408C of the Criminal Code.

The CCC will allege frauds of $33,000 and $77,000 occurred whilst the man was employed at the Department.

The man is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 4 April 2019.

The investigation remains ongoing.

As this matter is before the court, and the investigation is ongoing, it is not appropriate for the CCC to comment further.

The CCC is an independent agency combating major crime and reducing corruption for the benefit of the Queensland community.
