The Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) has charged a 60-year-old Southport woman with one count of aggravated fraud contrary to section 408C of the Queensland Criminal Code.

The charge relates to the joint CCC-Queensland Police Service (QPS) Operation Unwind that was responsible for dismantling an active cold call investment fraud (boiler room) allegedly run by a syndicate known as the ‘Irish Boys’ in August 2015. (See previous media release from 3 December 2015 )

The 60-year-old woman was arrested by the CCC today and formally charged at Southport Watchhouse.  She was bailed with conditions to surrender her passport and not to have contact with complainants and people related to the investigation.

She is expected to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on 16 May 2016.

Twelve people have now been charged as a result of the joint CCC-QPS Operation Unwind.
