A 53-year-old Clayfield woman was this afternoon issued with a Notice to Appear in Court to face a fraud charge following an investigation by the Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC).

The woman is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 9 August 2018 to face one offence of fraud contrary to section 408C(1)(b) & (2)(b) of the Queensland Criminal Code.

The alleged fraud relates to the misappropriation of a State Government department’s funds for her own use.

The CCC will allege in court that the fraud exceeds $14,000 in value.

Today’s charge follows the previous arrest of the woman by the CCC in July 2017 and the service of a Notice to Appear in December 2017 .

As the matters are now before the court, it is not appropriate for the CCC to comment further.

The CCC is an independent agency combating major crime and reducing corruption for the benefit of the Queensland community.
