A senior government employee was this evening charged with fraud following an investigation by the Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC).

The CCC charged a 52-year-old South Brisbane woman with:

• 1 x fraud contrary to section 408C(1)(d) of the Criminal Code.

The value of the alleged fraud is approximately $45,000 and relates to a fraudulent claim for private health insurance.

The woman was bailed and is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 8 August 2017.

As the matter is now before the court the CCC, it is not appropriate for the CCC to comment further.

The CCC is an independent agency combating major crime and reducing corruption for the benefit of the Queensland community.
