A 61-year-old Eight Mile Plains man was charged today at the Brisbane City Watch house with money laundering following a Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) investigation related to Ipswich City Council.

The man will face one charge of money laundering contrary to section 250 of the Criminal Proceeds Confiscation Act 2002 and is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 21 June 2018.

The CCC will allege in court that the offence occurred between 10 and 14 May 2017.

The man was previously charged by the CCC in 2017. See previous media release.

As the investigation remains ongoing and these matters are now before the court, the CCC is unable to comment further.

The CCC is an independent agency combating major crime and reducing corruption for the benefit of the Queensland community.
