A 60-year-old Eight Mile Plains man was last night charged with two counts of perjury, possessing ammunition without authority and unlawful possession of restricted drugs following a Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) investigation.

The CCC will allege the two counts of perjury were committed at an investigative hearing conducted as part of a CCC investigation.

Yesterday the CCC executed a search warrant at an Eight Miles Plains address. It will be alleged the CCC found ammunition and a restricted drug.

The 60-year-old man was last night charged with:

  • 2 x perjury contrary to section 123(1) of the Queensland Criminal Code
  • 1 x authority required to possess explosives contrary to section 34(1) of the Explosives Act 1999
  • 1 x unlawful possession of restricted drugs contrary to section 204 of the Health (Drugs and Poisons) Regulation 1996

The man is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 14 September 2017.

As the investigation remains ongoing and these matters are now before the court, the CCC is unable to comment further.

The CCC is an independent agency combating major crime and reducing corruption for the benefit of the Queensland community.
