Since 1989 there has been a constant commitment from a series of organisations to fight corruption and major crime in Queensland. The story of Queensland's crime fighting and anti-corruption bodies begins with the landmark Fitzgerald Inquiry of the late 1980s.

The Criminal Justice Commission (CJC) was created in late 1989, based on the recommendation of the Fitzgerald Inquiry
Queensland Crime Commission
The Queensland Crime Commission existed from 1997 to 2000
Crime and Misconduct Commission
The CMC (2001-2014) was born out of the merger of the CJC and the QCC
Crime and Corruption Commission
The Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) came into being on 1 July 2014 with the introduction of the Crime and Corruption Act 2001.
