Welcome to International Fraud Awareness Week

In the fight against fraud, prevention is the collective responsibility of individuals, organisations, and governments together.

This year’s theme – Fraud Prevention in Focus aims to equip you with the knowledge to spot early warning signs. Look out for fraud red flags such as living beyond one's means and facing financial difficulties. The full list of top red flags is pictured below.

Adapted by the Crime and Corruption Commission (Queensland) from: Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, International Fraud Awareness Week - Behavioural red flags of fraud - Occupational Fraud 2022: A Report to the Nations.

To bolster fraud prevention efforts across diverse organisational settings, the Crime and Corruption Commission has curated a suite of resources from various integrity agencies.

Fraud isn’t just about money. It includes any deliberate deception to facilitate or conceal the misappropriation of tangible or intangible assets. Fraud costs billions of dollars to Governments, individuals, and companies every year. It is never a victimless crime.
