The CMC review of Queensland noise laws in 2009 found that they were not effective in reducing excessive noise made by motorbikes in off-road areas.
A call for public comment in the course of the review resulted in submissions from:
- councils
- the general public
- government agencies and departments
- interest groups and stakeholders
- state and local government members.
The CMC released the Invitation for Public Comment on 13 June 2008.
On 15 April 2010 the CMC tabled in Parliament a review of the findings that included recommendations for sustainable improvement of these laws.
