Date published 18 April 1991

This report concludes an investigation into approaches made to members of a number of jury panels in Queensland in November 1990.

The Commission was notified by the Special Prosecutor Doug Drummond QC on 14 November 1990 that such approaches had been made. Drummond stated in his view a direct approach by subterfuge to members of a jury panel in order to ascertain their attitudes to a particular accused person was plainly improper.

He asked the Criminal Justice Commission to investigate the circumstances surrounding the matter.

This report was tabled in Parliament on 18 April 1991.
