The CMC (and formerly the CJC) has conducted two reviews of police pursuits. In 2011, the CMC examined the use of the Evade police provisions which were introduced in 2006 to support the restrictive QPS pursuit policy.

This report contains the CMC review of the ‘evade police’ powers, aimed at improving community safety by reducing the number of police pursuits. The report makes 13 recommendations to make the powers a more effective tool for police.

  • An alternative to pursuit: A review of the evade police provisions report was published on 29 June 2011.
