As on the public record, the Crime and Misconduct Commission (CMC) commenced an investigation after the Queensland Police Service referred a complaint by a member of the public regarding the commission of possible criminal offences relating to a forced offer for entry into the University of Queensland’s 2011 medical program (MBBS).

As part of its examination of issues associated with the forced offer for entry, the CMC has also:

  • Reviewed the University of Queensland’s handling of a complaint concerning improper enrolment, first referred to the CMC by the University of Queensland’s Chancellor on 4 October 2011.
  • Conducted a quality review of the University’s overall management of official misconduct matters to help restore public confidence in the institution’s ability to deal with related allegations.

The CMC has completed all three courses of action and the investigation has not resulted in criminal charges against any person.

The outcomes of the investigation and reviews will be incorporated into a public report which is currently being finalised.

It is not possible to put a timeframe on the release of the report.
