Two Brisbane men and a woman were charged on Wednesday (5 April) with alleged illegal steroid offences following a Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) investigation.

The CCC undertook search warrants of properties in Parkinson and Archerfield in March following which the two men were charged on a range of drug related offences.

Yesterday these men faced additional charges.

In addition, a 44-year-old Parkinson woman was charged with 2 x major possession dangerous drugs s9 Drugs Misuse Act 1986 and 1 x trafficking dangerous drugs s5 Drugs Misuse Act 1986.

The CCC alleged that following a search of a 21-year-old man’s Parkinson residence in March a quantity of steroids in liquid and tablet forms was found. He was yesterday charged with additional offences of 2 x major possession dangerous drugs s9 Drugs Misuse Act 1986 and 1 x minor possess/utensils s10(1)(b) Drugs Misuse Act 1986.

Following a search in March of an Archerfield workshop a 43-year-old male was charged with steroid offences and yesterday he was charged with additional charges of 1 x major possession dangerous drugs (s9 Drugs Misuse Act 1986).

All three people charged yesterday are due to appear in Brisbane’s Magistrates Court on 19 April.

The search warrants executed in Brisbane relate to a number of search warrants carried out in Rockhampton in March where two current serving police officers were charged with alleged drug related charges and two civilians with alleged drug and drug paraphernalia offences.

A total of seven people have been charged by the CCC this year in relation to the illegal steroid operation.

The CCC investigation is ongoing. As all of these matters are before the courts the CCC is unable to provide any further comment.

The CCC is an independent agency which ensures public sector corruption is investigated and those who commit criminal offences are placed before the courts.
