The Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) has charged a 47-year-old Toowoomba man with possessing and accessing child exploitation material.

Following a covert investigation, detectives from the CCC’s Cerberus Unit, with assistance from the Queensland Police Service’s Toowoomba Child Protection Investigation Unit, executed a search warrant at a Toowoomba property last night (1 June 2015).

A number of computer and storage devices were located and seized. The CCC will allege they contained child exploitation images and videos.

The man was arrested and bailed to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on 8 July 2015 on the following offences:

  • 1 count of possessing child exploitation material, contrary to section 228D Queensland Criminal Code 1899
  • 1 count of using a carriage service to access child pornography material, contrary to section 474.19 Commonwealth Criminal Code 1995

The CCC’s investigation is ongoing.

As the matter is now before the court, the CCC is unable to comment further.
