A 29-year-old woman from Bondi Beach, New South Wales, was today charged with Misconduct in Public Office offences following a Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) investigation.

The woman will face 18 charges of Misconduct in Public Office contrary to section 92A of the Criminal Code.

It is alleged the woman, who was formerly employed as a Senior Probation and Parole officer with the then Department of Justice and Attorney-General, conducted a number of unauthorised searches on a Probation and Parole computer system.

The woman is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 30 July 2018.

As the matter is now before the court, the CCC is unable to comment further.

The CCC is an independent agency combating major crime and reducing corruption for the benefit of the Queensland community.
