The Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) has issued a police officer with a Notice to Appear in court for allegedly releasing confidential information.
The CCC will allege the 48-year-old Detective Senior Sergeant from State Crime Command accessed the Queensland Police Service database QPrime and provided information to a third party on two separate occasions without a lawful reason.
The 48-year-old Detective Senior Sergeant will face two counts of Misconduct in relation to Public Office (Section 92A of the Queensland Criminal Code) alternatively computer hacking (Section 408E(2) of the Queensland Criminal Code).
He is scheduled to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday 4 September 2015.
As the matter is now before the courts, the CCC will make no further comment.
