As a result of a Crime and Misconduct Commission (CMC) investigation, the CMC has today issued a police officer from the South Eastern Region with a Notice to Appear in court on one charge of Abuse of Office, contrary to Section 92 of the Queensland Criminal Code.
The CMC will allege that the Detective Sergeant abused his position as a police officer during a criminal investigation.
He is scheduled to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 30 May 2014.
As the matter is now before the courts, no further information will be provided.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions withdrew the charge of Abuse of Office in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 28 October 2014. The matter is now closed and the CCC will take no further action criminally.
