A 50-year-old Ningi man will face four child exploitation offences following a covert Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) investigation.
The CCC will allege the 50-year-old man was using peer to peer computer software to download and distribute child exploitation material.
CCC officers attended a Ningi address last night and executed a search warrant. A number of computer and electronic storage devices were seized and will be forensically examined by the CCC. The CCC was assisted by the Queensland Police Service’s Caboolture Child Protection Investigation Unit.
The man was arrested and formally charged with:
- 1 x Possessing Child Exploitation Material contrary to section 228D Qld Criminal Code 1899
- 1 x Use a carriage service to access child pornography material contrary to section 474.19 (1)(a)(i)&(aa)(b) Commonwealth Criminal Code 1995
- 2 x Use a carriage service to make available child pornography material contrary to section 474.19 (1)(a)(iii)&(aa)(b) Commonwealth Criminal Code 1995
He was bailed and is scheduled to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on 10 March 2016.
The CCC’s investigation is ongoing. As the matter is now before the courts, the CCC is unable to comment further.
