A 24-year-old Nambour man has been charged with alleged child exploitation offences following an investigation by the Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC).

The CCC executed a search warrant on the man’s Nambour home on Monday and he was transported to the Maroochydore Watch-house and charged with:

  • 1 x Possessing Child Exploitation Material contrary to section 228D of the Queensland Criminal Code;
  • 1 x Use a carriage service to access child pornography material contrary to section 474.19 (1)(a)(i)&(aa)(b) of the Commonwealth Criminal Code 1995; and
  • 3 x Make available child pornography material contrary to section 474.19 (1)(a)(i)&(aa)(b) of the Commonwealth Criminal Code 1995).

The man was held in custody and is expected to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court today.

As these matters are now before the court the CCC is unable to comment further.

The CCC is an independent agency combating major crime and reducing corruption for the benefit of the Queensland community.
