A 62-year-old Morayfield man was charged today by the Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) with one count of official corruption.

The charges resulted from the CCC’s ongoing corruption investigation related to Moreton Bay Regional Council.

He is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 27 August 2019 where he will face one count of official corruption contrary to section 87(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.

As the investigation remains ongoing and this matter is now before the court, it is not appropriate for the CCC to comment further.

The CCC is an independent agency combating major crime and reducing corruption for the benefit of the Queensland community.
