Today the Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) has charged a 34-year-old Greenslopes man with alleged child exploitation offences.

The CCC will allege the man was in possession of child exploitation material and was using peer to peer computer software to access child exploitation material, including image and movie files.

CCC officers executed a search warrant at a residential address in Greenslopes today.

A number of computer and electronic storage devices were seized and will be forensically examined by the CCC.  The CCC was assisted today by members of the Queensland Police Service Morningside Child Protection Investigation Unit.

The 34-year-old man was issued a Notice to Appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 21 April 2016 to face the following charges:

  • 1 x Possessing Child Exploitation Material contrary to section 228D Qld Criminal Code 1899
  • 1 x Use a carriage service to access child pornography material contrary to section 474.19 (1)(a)(i) & (aa)(b) Commonwealth Criminal Code 1995
  • 1 x Use a carriage service to make available child pornography material contrary to section 474.19 (1)(a)(iii) & (aa)(b) Commonwealth Criminal Code 1995

The CCC’s investigation is ongoing. As the matter is now before the courts, the CCC is unable to comment further.
