The Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) has served a Notice to Appear in Court on a 34-year-old Coombabah man to face drug possession and tainted property charges.
These charges relate to the joint CCC-QPS Operation Unwind. (See previous media releases from 17 August 2015 and 18 August 2015).
Whilst executing a search warrant at a residential property on Monday 17 August 2015, drugs and $81,700 cash were located.
This afternoon the CCC served a Notice to Appear in Court on a 34-year-old Coombabah man to face the following charges:
- 1 x Possession of property suspected of being tainted property contrary to section 252 of the Criminal Proceeds Confiscation Act 2002.
- 2 x Possessing dangerous drugs contrary to section 9 of the Drugs Misuse Act 1986.
This man was also previously charged with one count of aggravated fraud relating to Operation Unwind.
He is expected to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on 15 September 2015.
As these matters are before the courts, the CCC is unable to comment further.
