A 60-year-old former male Sergeant was yesterday served with a Notice to Appear in court for the alleged unauthorised use of a Queensland Police Service (QPS) QPRIME database.
The CCC will allege that on 44 occasions between 2010 and 2016, while a serving police officer, he accessed QPRIME without authorisation.
The former officer is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on 18 July 2017 to face the following charges:
- 44 x Misconduct in relation to public office pursuant to Section 92A(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
The CCC yesterday also served a Notice to Appear in court on a 72-year-old man for allegedly procuring information from the 60-year-old whilst he was a serving police officer. He is also expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday 18 July to face the following charges:
- 44 x Misconduct in relation to public office pursuant to Section 92A(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
The CCC has notified the QPS Ethical Standards Command about the charges relating to the former police officer.
As the matter is now before the court, the CCC is unable to comment further.
