The CMC believes that a misunderstanding has resulted in the lodgement of an application for an injunction by the legal team for Kitching and Robinson, two of the members of the initial police investigation team referred to in the CMC’s report.
The suggestion appears to be that the CMC is asking for the Commissioner of Police to personally make a decision, and report back about the disciplinary action he has taken within 14 days.
This is incorrect. We have asked the Commissioner of Police to report back to the CMC in 14 days about his intended course of action.
We have informed the legal team for Kitching and Robinson of this and directed them to the relevant sections of the report in an attempt to correct the apparent misunderstanding.
