The CMC believes there is still no reason why the Police Commissioner can’t inform the CMC about his intended course of action against six officers by July 2.

Neither the CMC nor the Chairman, Mr Martin Moynihan AO QC, has been served with any injunction nor any application for an injunction.

The Supreme Court registry has informed us that two people have made an application for an injunction and that matter has been listed for hearing on 6 July, 2010.

This being the case, there appears to be no impediment to the Police Commissioner considering the matter before July 2 as required by the CMC.

However if the Police Commissioner has a compelling reason for an extension of time Mr Moynihan said he would consider it.
