The Crime and Misconduct Commission has obtained detailed property valuations relating to a complaint about variations in prices paid by the state government for two resumed properties on opposite sides of the Bruce Highway at Federal, near Gympie.

It is not the CMC’s role to assess whether the valuations were correct; however, the documents show significant differences between the two properties which would affect their respective valuations. Therefore the difference in the valuations does not raise a reasonable suspicion of official misconduct.

The valuations were also carried out by two different state government bodies.

The Department of Communities, which referred the matter to the CMC, has been notified about the outcome.
