CMC Chairperson Martin Moynihan AO QC will issue a public statement tomorrow (Tuesday, 15 March 2011) regarding the police investigations into the Palm Island death in custody of Mulrunji in 2004.

In June last year the CMC recommended that the QPS consider disciplinary proceedings against six officers involved in investigations relating to the Palm Island death in custody.

QPS Deputy Commissioner Kathy Rynders was appointed to consider these recommendations and she provided her response to the CMC earlier this year.

The CMC has now considered DC Rynders report and will publicly announce its decision tomorrow.
