Recent media coverage of the CMC’s investigation into a matter involving allegations of inappropriate approval of sports grants has resulted in the reporting of incorrect information.
The CMC believes it is in the public interest to ensure that the information is corrected particularly during an election campaign where some individuals may attempt to misuse the CMC.
The CMC has not ‘expanded' its investigation and is not ‘probing the role Labor’s Bulimba candidate Di Farmer played in the approval of the sports grant at the centre of the rorting allegations.’
Ms Farmer’s role is not relevant to the grant process that the CMC is currently examining.
