The Crime and Misconduct Commission (CMC) has today provided the Parliamentary Crime and Misconduct Committee (PCMC) with two interim reports arising from an independent assessment of a series of allegations about medical matters that may reveal misconduct.

These reports were prepared by retired Justice of the Queensland Court of Appeal, Richard Chesterman AO RFD QC.

Mr Chesterman was engaged to conduct a preliminary assessment of these allegations after the PCMC referred them to the CMC on 24 April.

The reports have been provided to the PCMC as the body to whom the complaints were originally formally made.

Mr Chesterman is continuing with his assessment of the remaining aspects of the complainant’s allegations.

No further comment will be made at this stage.
