CMC commences assessment of new complaint regarding medical misconduct allegations

Crime and Misconduct Commission (CMC) officers yesterday (30 May 2012) met with Peter Wellington MP, the Independent Member for Nicklin, concerning a number of allegations related to medical matters that may reveal misconduct.

A formal complaint, together with supporting documentation, was received at the meeting.

The CMC is now conducting a preliminary assessment of the material to determine the appropriate course of action.

No decision has yet been made about a potential investigation or whether the matter may form part of a separate assessment process currently being undertaken by retired Justice of Queensland Court of Appeal, Richard Chesterman AO RFD QC.

No further comment will be made at this time.
