The Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) has this week finalised Operation Tabloid, an investigation focused on a Brisbane-based drug-trafficking network.

The covert operation commenced in November 2017 and focused on the movement of illicit drugs from New South Wales into south eastern Queensland.

The investigation has resulted in the arrest of nine people on thirty-one (31) charges including drug-trafficking, drug supply, drug possession, possession of the proceeds of crime and the production of drugs.  These matters are all currently before the courts.

During the investigation, cocaine with a street value of approximately $200,000 was seized, along with smaller quantities of heroin, cannabis, amphetamines and MDMA (ecstasy).

The CCC continues to target participants in criminal organisations that are active in illicit markets.

The CCC is an independent agency combating major crime and reducing corruption for the benefit of the Queensland community.
