Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) investigators have charged a 57-year-old Cashmere man with five offences including official corruption as part of an ongoing investigation.
The CCC will allege the man was a contractor to Ipswich City Council.
He was bailed and is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday 18 September 2017 to face the following charges:
- 1 x official corruption contrary to section 87 of the Criminal Code;
- 1 x fraud contrary to section 408C of the Criminal Code;
- 1 x personation in general contrary to section 514 of the Criminal Code;
- 1 x misconduct in relation to public office contrary to section 92A of the Criminal Code and
- 1 x breach conditions of bail contrary to section 29 of the Bail Act 1980.
As the CCC’s investigation remains ongoing and this matter is now before the court, the CCC is unable to comment further.
