A 49-year-old Capalaba man has been served a Notice to Appear in court on alleged child exploitation offences following an investigation by the Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC).

The CCC executed a search warrant on the man’s Capalaba home on Monday evening and he was served with a Notice to Appear charged with:

  • 1 x Possessing Child Exploitation Material contrary to section 228D of the Queensland Criminal Code;
  • 1 x Use a carriage service to access child pornography material contrary to section 474.19 (1)(a)(i)&(aa)(b) of the Commonwealth Criminal Code 1995.

The man is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 8 November 2017.

As these matters are now before the court the CCC is unable to comment further.

The CCC is an independent agency combating major crime and reducing corruption for the benefit of the Queensland community.
