A 21-year-old Bundamba man has been charged with child exploitation offences following a Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) investigation.

The CCC will allege the man was in possession of child exploitation material and was using peer to peer computer software to access child exploitation material, including image and movie files.

CCC officers executed a search warrant at a residential address in Bundamba today.

A number of computer and electronic storage devices were seized and will be forensically examined by the CCC.  The CCC was assisted by members of the Queensland Police Service Springfield Child Protection Investigation Unit.

The 21-year-old man was issued a Notice To Appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on 1 December 2016 to face the following charges:

  • 1 x Possessing Child Exploitation Material contrary to section 228D (Qld Criminal Code 1899)
  • 1 x Use a carriage service to access child pornography material contrary to section 474.19 (1)(a)(i) & (aa)(b) (Commonwealth Criminal Code 1995)

As the matter is now before the courts, the CCC is unable to comment further.
