The Commission was approached by the Director of Prosecutions in Queensland, Mr R.N. Miller, QC, who suggested that the Commission in conjunction with other interested agencies, form a committee to conduct a review of the provision of Forensic Science Services in Queensland in the investigation, prosecution or defence of criminal activities.
Such a review necessitated an assessment of the current level of forensic resources in this state.
