The Crime and Corruption Commission is supporting Privacy Awareness Week (PAW) which runs from 2 to 8 May 2022. This year’s theme is ‘Privacy: the foundation of trust’.
PAW is an annual event to raise awareness within the public sector and the broader community about the importance of protecting and respecting personal information. It is a great reminder about the importance of protecting our personal information in our day-to-day activities.
We can all protect and respect personal information by asking ourselves simple questions.
At every opportunity when personal information is collected, used, stored and shared consider:
- How will the information be used?
- Why it is being collected?
- Who will have access to it?
The CCC has a range of corruption prevention resources that provide advice and guidance on managing corruption risks, including the misuse of confidential information. You can access the CCC’s corruption prevention resources at www.ccc.qld.gov.au/public-sector/corruption-prevention
