The Crime and Corruption Commission supports International Access to Information Day (IAI Day), held annually on 28 September 2022 to recognise the unique value of your right to access government-held information. In Queensland, IAI Day is led by the Office of the Information Commissioner.
This year’s theme is ‘Artificial intelligence, e-governance and access to information’, and speaks to the increasingly digital world we live in and how AI and e-governance play an important role in improving access to information.
AI and e-governance can help bridge the digital divide by giving citizens access to tailor-made, accessible information and delivering more efficient and effective services to the community. However, we also need to remember that AI and e-governance need to be transparent, accountable and aligned with community values and expectations.
Our agency is committed to providing access to information for the community. You can find out more about how to access information from us here.
More details about IAI Day, information access rights and a special keynote speaker event on 28 September (featuring Mr Ian Hamm, Chair of the Historical Records Taskforce at The Healing Foundation) is available on the Office of the Information Commissioner’s website.
