The Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) has charged a 56-year-old Mount Isa man with one count of fraudulently creating a falsified document.

It will be alleged the man, an employee of Mount Isa City Council, falsely created and then submitted a false document to the CCC in response to a notice issued by the CCC.

Yesterday (27 February 2020) the man was charged with one count of fraudulent falsification of records contrary to section 430 of the Criminal Code.

He is expected to appear in the Mount Isa Magistrates Court on 18 March 2020.

As the CCC’s investigation remains ongoing and this matter is now before the court, the CCC is unable to comment further.

The CCC is an independent agency combating major crime and reducing corruption for the benefit of the Queensland community.
