Social media: terms of use

The CCC uses social media services to complement the information it publishes on its website.

The number and nature of social media services used by the CCC will change over time. The following disclaimer applies to all social media services in use by the CCC at any given time, regardless of whether they are listed on this page.

Other than the content provided by the CCC, any content, views, opinions and responses to questions or views uploaded, expressed or submitted by the creators, sponsors, advertisers or users of social media services utilised by the CCC, are solely the views, opinions and responsibility of the person submitting them and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the CCC.

The CCC is not responsible for content third parties publish post, upload, distribute, disseminate or otherwise transmit via social media.

The CCC and its staff, agents and contractors, accept no liability whatsoever arising from or connected to the currency, accuracy or completeness of any material posted on social media sites and disclaims all responsibility for any loss or damage which may arise from the use of information provided via social media.

Hours of Use

While the CCC makes reasonable efforts to monitor and moderate content posted on its social media platforms, it cannot always respond in a timely manner to online requests for information. The CCC will only respond to comments during business hours.

The CCC welcomes feedback and comments from our followers. However, we may not be able to respond individually to all messages received via our social media accounts.

Do not use social media to report corruption

To report corrupt conduct or police misconduct use the online complaint lodgement form, visit www.ccc.qld.gov.au for more options to lodge your complaint, or call the CCC on 1800 061 611.

If you have a formal request for information, comment, complaint or information, we recommend you visit www.ccc.qld.gov.au, email [email protected], write to us at GPO Box 3123 Brisbane QLD 4001, or contact us by phone on 1800 061 611.

Contact from the media

Journalists should direct media enquiries to [email protected] or 07 3360 6000. The CCC will not provide formal media responses to journalists via social media.

Moderation

The CCC reserves the sole right to review, edit and/or delete any comments it deems are inappropriate. Comments including, but not limited to, the following may be deleted or edited by the moderators:

  • abusive or hurtful comments about a blogger, another user, the CCC and CCC staff members which may include:
    • inappropriate language (e.g. profanity, racial, ethnic or gender-based language)
    • personal attacks or defamatory statements or comments
    • irrelevant and redundant comments (e.g. promotion of events, groups, pages, websites, organisations and programs not related to or affiliated with the CCC )
    • comments that violate the privacy of people including CCC staff, complainants, subject officers or witnesses
    • Other content the CCC considers illegal or likely to impact the CCC’s operational activities.
  • the identification of CCC staff.

    Links to other websites from the CCC social media sites are provided as a guide only and such linkage does not constitute endorsement of those sites by the CCC. The CCC is not responsible for the content of external websites.
