CMC statement — suggestions of links between organised crime and Queensland Health's payroll system — 11.02.2011

Suggestions in the media that there are links between organised crime and Queensland Health’s payroll system are not correct.

Queensland Health notified the Crime and Misconduct Commission about alleged fraudulent claims for interim payments by staff who claimed hardship following the rollout of the department’s new payroll system.

Individual payments to some staff are being examined to determine their legitimacy and the department is also implementing a number of processes to address issues identified.

The matter is ongoing.
