Sunshine Coast District Police Officers charged with Misconduct in Public Office - 15 March 2018

Two plain clothes officers - a 48-year-old female and a 41-year-old male - from the Sunshine Coast District were this morning arrested and charged in the Caloundra Watch house on one charge each of Misconduct in Public Office (contrary to section 92A(1)c of the Criminal Code) following an investigation by the Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC).

The two serving officers are expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 20 March 2018.

It is alleged the two plain clothes officers intervened in a traffic interception by uniformed officers at Mooloolaba on 27 July 2016 resulting in the driver of the intercepted vehicle avoiding a road side breath test.

As the matters are now due to go before the court, it is not appropriate for the CCC to comment further.

The CCC is an independent agency combating major crime and reducing corruption for the benefit of the Queensland community.
