South Brisbane woman charged with additional fraud offences - 19 December 2017

A suspended senior government employee was this afternoon issued with a Notice to Appear in Court to face fraud offences following an investigation by the Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC).

The 52-year-old South Brisbane woman is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 24 January 2018 to face 31 fraud offences contrary to section 408C(1)(a)(i) &(2)(b) of the Queensland Criminal Code.

The alleged frauds relate to misuse of a government department corporate credit card to purchase items for her own use.  It will be alleged the frauds exceed $30,000 in value.

Today’s charges follow the previous arrest of the woman by the CCC in July 2017 in relation to a fraud offence

As the matters are now before the court, it is not appropriate for the CCC to comment further.

The CCC is an independent agency combating major crime and reducing corruption for the benefit of the Queensland community.
