A 30-year-old Southport man was charged last night with 10 drug supply offences - 3 November 2017

A Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) warrant for the arrest of a 30-year-old Gold Coast man on 10 drug charges was executed last night by the Queensland Police Service after he arrived back in Australia.

The original warrant, issued as part of the CCC’s Operation Quaker,  was issued in February 2015.

The man was arrested at Brisbane airport and has been charged with:

  • 10 x supply contrary to section 6 of the Drugs Misuse Act 1986.

He is expected to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on 16 November.

Operation Quaker targeted a syndicate that was allegedly transporting significant quantities of cocaine from Sydney to the Gold Coast from where it was distributed throughout south-east Queensland.

A previous CCC media release about Operation Quaker can be found at: http://www.ccc.qld.gov.au/news-and-media/ccc-media-releases/interstate-cocaine-trafficking-syndicate-shut-down-2013-24-march-2016

As the matter is now before the court, the CCC is unable to comment further.

The CCC is an independent agency combating major crime and reducing corruption for the benefit of the Queensland community.
