28-year-old woman charged with drug offences - 23 March 2016

The Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) has charged a 28-year-old Beenleigh woman, identified during an organised crime investigation, for supplying methylamphetamine.

It is alleged that the woman was involved in supplying methylamphetamine over an 11 month period during 2013 – 2014.

With the assistance of the Queensland Police Service, the CCC’s investigation, known as Operation Gloss, is focused on the Queensland-based activities of a criminal syndicate that was believed to be producing and distributing methylamphetamine in Sydney and the Gold Coast.

The 28-year-old was issued with a Notice To Appear at the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 13 April 2016 to face the following charges:

  • 6 x supply a dangerous drug, namely methylamphetamine, contrary to section 6 of the Drugs Misuse Act 1986

The 28-year-old is the fifth person to be charged by Operation Gloss and the second this week after a 53-year-old Gold Coast man was charged with 77 drug offences.

As the investigation remains ongoing and these matters are now before the court, the CCC is unable to comment further.
