Ice and cocaine syndicate targeted - Operation Altana

Operation Altana, which finished in 2017, targeted a high-threat organised crime syndicate involved in the production, supply, and trafficking of crystal methamphetamine (ice) and cocaine on the Gold Coast.

Interstate ice network dismantled — Operation Gloss

This operation focused on a network alleged to be producing and trafficking crystal methylamphetamine in New South Wales and the Gold Coast.

Cocaine network dismantled — Operation Quaker

This operation targeted a syndicate allegedly transporting cocaine from Sydney to the Gold Coast for distribution throughout south-east Queensland.

Two active boiler rooms shut down – Operation Unwind

This operation was set up to investigate an alleged crime syndicate known as the Irish Boys. The Gold Coast-based syndicate was suspected of operating organised and sophisticated cold call investment frauds (also known as “boiler room frauds”).

Major drug trafficking network dismantled by two-year CCC investigation - Operation Juliet Wave

A major criminal network trafficking ice and other drugs between Brisbane and Sydney has been dismantled by the CCC, in partnership with the QPS.

Queensland-based crime network dismantled - Operation Lithium

A CMC and NSW Police Force joint operation dismantled a Queensland-based crime network responsible for distributing precursor chemicals used in the production of methylamphetamine within New South Wales. The key target, a significant organised crime figure, pleaded guilty to 15 charges and was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment.

Large scale heroin network shut down – Operation Lightning

A large-scale, high-threat heroin network based in New South Wales with distribution points into Queensland and Victoria has been shut down. The 12-month investigation, codenamed Operation Lightning was led by the CMC and supported by the Queensland Police Service State Drug Investigation Unit and New South Wales Police Drug Squad.

Major heroin trafficking network shut down – Operation Storm

A CMC investigation codenamed Operation Storm dismantled a major drug distribution network operating from the Sunshine Coast to the Gold Coast. The network is believed to have been responsible for distributing at least 20 kg of heroin, with an estimated street value of $25 million.

Organised criminal group disrupted – Operation Warrior

The CMC conducted a major crime operation in 2009 and 2010, targeting a large-scale organised drug distribution network based on the Gold Coast. The network stretched from Cairns to Melbourne and included criminals in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, Cairns, Townsville, Bowen, Airlie Beach, Sydney and Melbourne. As a result, 73 people were arrested over 420 drug-related charges including trafficking, supply and possession of dangerous drugs. The estimated street value of the drugs seized was approximately $6,800,000.
