How to apply for a job with the CCC

Job vacancies available with the CCC are posted in the current vacancies section of this website with a link to the Queensland Government Smart Jobs website for more detail.

Required documents

The majority of our vacancies will require you to complete and attach the following — in all cases follow the instructions on the position description.

  • An application form (when applying offline)
  • A detailed resume, including your work experience and any other information relevant to the role
  • Name, role and contact number of at least 2 referees (preferably current or previous supervisors) who are familiar with your performance and achievements

Drafting your application

Review the position description to identify the work experience, education and skills the ideal candidate should have. Draft your resume and statement of claims (if required) in a way that best shows how you are suited for the role.

You must register before applying online through Smart Jobs. Once you have done so, use the ‘Apply online’ button at the bottom of the 'job details' page.

To save your online application as a draft and return to it at a later time, click ‘Save and submit later’ at the bottom of the form.

Submitting your application

Register and apply online through Smart Jobs.

When you have completed your Smart Jobs application, click ‘Submit’. Note that once you do this, you cannot return to it or make any further changes. The only other option you have is to withdraw it. It will be saved in ‘My applications’ for your reference.

In jobs with questionnaires attached to the application form, the ‘Next’ button acts in the same way as ‘Submit’ — once you click it you cannot return to the application form.

If you are not applying through Smart Jobs, please email your application and the application form (DOC, 60KB), quoting the job reference number, to [email protected].

Ensure you submit your application before the closing date, as it may not be accepted at a later time.

Late applications

If you are submitting your application late, please notify the contact person named in the position description. The selection panel will decide if they will accept a late application.

Withdrawing applications

You can withdraw an application on SmartJobs or by contacting us. If you withdraw an application you will not be able to resubmit through SmartJobs for the same vacancy. Confirm with the contact person that you can send in a new application by another method.

Selection panel

The selection panel will consist of at least 2 people who will:

  • consider the applications
  • short-list applicants to be interviewed
  • use the selection techniques best suited to determining which applicant can best fulfil the duties of the position. These can include
    • interviews
    • work samples
    • ability tests
    • structured group and individual exercises.

Members of the selection panel will contact your referees during the selection process if necessary. No referee will be contacted without your prior consent.

Security vetting

Applicants for positions for the CCC may be required to undergo strict security vetting, which includes making personal and financial disclosures.

Notification of appointment and feedback

Once the CCC has approved the appointment of the selected candidate, the appointee and unsuccessful applicants will be advised of the outcome, as soon as possible.

If you would like post-selection feedback, please contact the Chair of the selection panel.
